This is very VERY wrong, but he should have dropped the knife when he was told. Even though that is no excuse to use a firearm before when the police had other options. It seems to me that some police would use their gun at any time nowadays for the thrill (e.g. the dog that was of no harm that was shot a few weeks back)

But honestly, my city is a mess sometimes One shot in the leg or something would have been enough, at least. This morning, the TPS announced the officer was suspended.

Acting accordingly is not shooting someone when they are not attacking or attempting to attack you. This is an abuse of power and I hope the man responsible gets what he deserves. Sick of this corrupt ****.

This world is turning into a police state. You can't even question an officer without getting arrested. May he rest in peace. Wake up people.

Since he just had a knife they could have easily got on and arrested him... although he got himself into this situation by "pulling a knife and ordering everybody off the streetcar" AND THEN not dropping the knife after they asked him to multiple times.

That's silly, knife is a deadly weapon sis, I know someone who was attacked with a knife and a knife is a good reason to shoot someone.

He had a knife, exposed himself to people and threatened them. Mess. He had it coming




But why did they shoot him nine times? Apparently he was already shot and lying on his back, and the officer took aim and fired several more shots into him even though Yatim wasn't trying to get up or anything...

I think people are making a fuss about this for no good reason. Look at this eyewitness account:

"He remembers Yatim holding the knife away from his body and saying: "Nobody get off the f--king streetcar.""

Sorry but if I had a gun I would have shot him too. He wasn't some Trayvon Martin with Skittles, he was a disturbed or drugged person with a freakin' knife!

When an officer is being investigated they are always suspended untill it is complete.
