People saying that there are artists with either more albums or singles sold but that doesn't matter because Gaga is top 3 in almost every aspect while the others maybe number 1 here and number 5-6 there..

1.Gaga (from the current Pop stars)

3.Beyonce/Britney
4. Rihanna

Singles:
Number 1 - Rihanna with 40 singles around 150M singles
Number 2 - Gaga with 12 singles 90M singles
Number 3 - Katy probably but P!nk, Beyonce and Britney are all super close to her

Albums:
1. Adele
2. Gaga/Taylor/Rihanna but Taylor is super global, Rihanna's average is weak and Gaga has only 2 LPs and 1 EP
3. P!nk, Beyonce
4. Bruno Mars / One Direction / Justin Bieber
5. Britney / Katy (talking about the last 5-6 years right ?)

Gaga is the the newest artist of all these and she is slaying the most ... These lists will look totally diferent the next years when Gaga has 2-3 more albums

+ Katy is not even top 5

Adele has won an Oscar, a Golden Globe, yet another Grammy, yet another Brit, Critics Choice, an MBE certification, her album sold another half million this year so far (last year it sold another four and a half million, in the US alone, despite not doing much of anything or having a smash single to pull in such high numbers for 2012), sold another 5 million + single while doing nothing to get off of her ass and promote it, etc, etc.

Meanwhile Adele continues to show up with relevant receipts and continues to mop the floor with everyone award after award, album sale after album sale, single sale after single sale, etc. All that while doing practically nothing except to show up and collect more statues.

That sounds more like a queen to me.

EDIT: And let's not forget the logic by some people, noone cares about Adele herself. That's why almost 3 years later she's still selling, still collecting awards, and still getting talked about in the media over dumb things like what kind of tattoo she got or about her trip to the zoo with her son.

She is already the most successful black touring artist alive alongside Beyonce and might pass her this era.
Everybody knows that black artist tend to have lower your numbers than their white counterpart cus their urban fan base is less likely to attention concerts in general.

To say that Rihanna is a poor touring artist because she DOESN'T do gaga numbers is like saying gaga is a poor album artist because she doesn't do 21 numbers.

But at the end of the day:
Rihanna sold more albums
Rihanna got more radio plays
Rihanna sold more singles
Rihanna got more YouTube views
Rihanna is bigger on THE social network.

Only thing Gaga has is touring.
