If Simon Cowell knows anything, it is how to rock some candor! (Well, unless we are talking baby news, of course.)
At a conference with TV critics today, Cowell had this to say about the most recent season of X Factor, with former judges Britney Spears and L.A. Reid: "It's like having a dinner party," Cowell said. "You invite people for dinner and sometimes it's a fun night and other times it's not as fun as you hoped it would be. This [season] is a fun dinner party."
So when did Simon know it wasn't working? "Day one," he said. "I didn't say that!" He then explained: "I felt we were doing what everybody else was doing and I had this impatience to get on to season three so we could do what we wanted to do."
Cowell, who was joined on stage by returning judge Demi Lovato and new judges Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio, explained that the new judging panel has so much more energy, and feels "like family." Producers also revealed that the show is going back to the original categories: boys, girls, over-25s and groups.

Lol, you know that no one cared about her. Demi ended up being more charismatic but if all the attention had gone to her, her acts would have stayed until the final.

You're right about Britney but let's be real here, no one cared for Demi when she was on the X-factor. Britney's faces got more attention than anything Demi ever did or said.
He needs to worry about that child of his that's coming cause this show aint it. The Voice and Idol's ratings are down what makes him think this show is going to do better.
I'm absolutely delighted Britney and Demi are joining us. Britney remains one of the biggest stars in the world, she's talented, fascinating – and I believe she knows exactly how to spot the X factor. Demi's had an amazing career in music, TV and film for someone her age. She's young, confident, and enthusiastic. I think it’s really important that she speaks to our younger audience. The new panel will be dynamic and will work really well with the changes we are making to the show.
Wish Britney Spears was a mean girl. Too bad she is classy. Simon lost all my respect.
