LET'S use.proper logic for a second...she booked those show during her most controversial time. I'm glad she did as well as she did. 2012 was a risky year...now that the dust has settled and she's won and proven she can endure the backlash her feature are getting her back in urban graces...once she tpur next summer things will fall into place. I'm certain she will gross more with jer upcoming tour than she did with the 2012 one

"Super Bass" was the perfect mix of hip-hop and pop.
Onika can try as much as she likes but SB will always be one of a kind ("Va Va Voom" was not the business!).

He means that the recreation of Super Bass failed. Which is true.

"VVV" was basically a dry attempt at recreating what she had already done, although the bridge of the song is better than the bridge of "Super Bass". I honestly don't know what would have fared better as the lead single - "VVV" would have probably been similar to "Pound the Alarm" in terms of success, but could have preserved Nicki's credibility a little more than "Starships" did.

The video isn't all that, I agree. But the positive of the video is that "Roman in Moscow" - filmed at pretty much the same time as "VVV" - probably would have been just as... cheap, which makes the fact we're never seeing the video just a little better. I'd rather have an awesome imagination to what the video could be like, compared to the probable harsh reality that would have disappointed all of us.

And to say Va Va Voom would of done as good as PTA is ridiculous Do you know how many performances VVV would of had? American Idol, NBA All Star game, Good Morning America (twice), Pink Friday tour (Everyday) the little Nokia private show & Ellen. The fact that VVV did good with no promo except a video that no one likes is quite amazing to me.

Had she re shot the video and promoted it like she did Starships, VVV would of ATLEAST been Triple or 4x Platinum.

Seriously? For one, the "only thing" you're talking about is the entire vocal component of the tracks being similar to one another. That's not a small thing. Secondly, look at the production of the two tracks. Both are glossy pop numbers, albeit one hones in on the bass qualities found in hip-hop ("Super Bass") while the other one switches bass for electronics, featuring a variety of synths that buzz and dart around underneath the vocals. That's pretty much the only difference.

Unless we want to include the fact that one talks about being attracted to a possible drug dealer while the other details Nicki as a mistress. That's the other difference, I guess.

Hm, I forgot about the heavy promo schedule. I was more thinking that "VVV" wouldn't be uber successful due to "SB" smashing a few months beforehand (more like six months, but that's still pretty fresh for an identical copy), much like how "PTA" was hot on the heels of "Starships".

Nicki needs an anthem. Hov lane woulda been great when "you ain't about that life " was popping.
