Your facts are wrong. Adele selling more albums =/= more successful. Overall, Gaga has sold more records, has made more money, has grossed more on tour, etc. Where are your facts?

Adele banked 30 million with NO endorsements, no new album, no tour, no perfumes, or anything. All of it was royalties off her music. Let's not act like that's unimpressive. Gaga had her perfume, tour, etc that put her that high.
Touring, again, doesn't really count against Adele because like I said, she could easily have very high grossing tours if she wanted to. There has been a very high demand for Adele tickets and if she actually played arenas (and actually toured) she'd be banking even more money. I do think she'll do arena tours with her next album though so she can play less shows and protect her voice.
EDIT: And she's had a ton of endorsement deals come her way too that she's turned down.
And social media is irrelevant. Lots of unsuccessful acts have decent social media numbers. Plus it's not like Adele doesn't have a massive amount of followers on twitter or facebook.

ok Im not arguing anymore, let's wait til her next album. I'm pretty sure she will still be successful tho. But to be a pop star you just need more. It's just simple logic: people may listen to your music, but that does not mean they care about everything that you do. ADELE is all about the music. People like her for her music.

Adele isn't really a popstar, she's just another neo-soul artist like Norah Jones. Her album "Come Away with Me" was the 21 of its time but then she kinda flopped off. Adele isn't really a 'personality' either, she's just there, and her tours were nowhere near as big as the monster ball or the born this way ball.
|
This is all very false though.
Adele is a popstar. Just because she presents it differently doesn't make her any less of a pop star. Norah was not a popstar, she did not make pop singles, Adele does.. Also Norah didn't have a string of successful singles either, Adele has. The Norah comparisons are so embarrassing. Just another attempt at trying to discredit Adele in HOPE that she'll end up like Norah. A better comparison for Adele is, like I said earlier, Eminem.
I guess people want to say Adele isn't pop so she doesn't get lumped into a category with other people's faves but in reality, she is a popstar, like it or not.
And Adele is very much a personality. I can't even believe some people would say she's not. People also love Adele, not just for her music or her voice, but for her down to earth, funny, personality as well. Adele is just as much a household name as any other popstar.

And that's all that matters in the end, is the music. Everything else is just a big, unnecessary distraction.
To be a popstar, you just have to make music that the people love and will buy and have things about you that stand out. Nothing more, nothing less. People think you have to know how to dance, wear tacky costumes and make certain kind of music, but the fact is you don't.
Hence the importance of 21.

Didn't GGGB sell 8 mil? I'm pretty sure the fame sold more. And it was Gaga's debut album.
And we can't really consider Rihanna until she has a writing credit on every song, because it's not her who's successful, it's her team. It's Rihanna the brand, not Rihanna the person.

IDK its just a weird thing to have an article title like this: "ADELE is the biggest POP STAR on the planet" it just does not sound right

Call her an artist or a singer-songwriter, not a popstar. GaGa, Madonna, Britney, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Katy Perry are popstars. It's ADELE's music that is popular, not her.

What's so "lol" about that though?
The bitterness still. Why do most Gaga stans want to pretend that Adele didn't happen or always try to come up with ways to discredit her or make it seem like she's in a different genre from Gaga so they can't compete?
Adele happened, she was more successful, and those are facts. And quite frankly she could have been even more successful and really created a major gap if she actually milked her fame and success.

Even MTN sold more than 80,000 copies.
People are so hive-minded here and/or just ignorant. Saying Adele because she has sold more albums... even though Gaga makes more money AKA IS MORE SUCCESSFUL.

Thanks, we didn't know that.
The facts are there. Name another artist from this GENERATION that has grossed more than $400m, sold more than 100m records, and has a networth of $200m? I'll save you the time, you can't.
