Why should she ever catch a break?

It's quite obvious she's influenced by several icons, including Madonna. Gaga is so invested into the art prospect of her music, that it's impossible to escape comparisons because Madonna's had several similar influences.

I find it quite stupid that an artist cannot re-create or be influenced by another's work without being criticized. Unless it's a blatant copy (And don't tell me that single cover comparison is a copy or I might think you're mildly retarded), then it's her interpretation.

There is absolutely nothing similar visually in that comparison.

Should we penalize Madonna for being unoriginal, because that's not even her concept in the first place? No, it's just stupid.

She should catch a break, of course. I mean seriously LOOK at her. In no way is she trying to imitate madonna. Lady gaga has improvised her brand to become completely original, deviant from all other artists. The comparisons need to cease!

Also as soon as Gaga starts flopping or becomes irrelevant or has some career-ruining PR scandal she will associate herself with another younger, more relevant pop star. She did the same with Britney, there was a point around 2003 where you couldn't talk about Britney without mentioning Madonna, and vice versa.
