Everytime Apple brings out a dodgy product, everyone thinks it's the end for Apple. But iPod sales still increased despite numerous **** iPods, especially in the Nano department.
Apple brought out the iPad 3 which had a stack load of problems like sudden restarts (fixed in 5.1.1) , overheating, battery life etc. and yet iPad sales weren't affected.
Apple brought out the iBook G4 which was a considered a failure for no widescreen, easy discolor and being a Power PC meaning it was very limited compared to PC laptops. BUT it helped boost the MacBook line-up which then made Apple a bigger name on the Notebook market.
Apple make mistakes. But because they do, they learn from them to eventually make better products. Rather than other companies that rely on jam-packing features into a device rather than listening to what the public wants.
Saying that though, they fail software wise a lot. Sailfish OS is what iOS 7 should have been heading towards and it should have been iOS 6 when the iPhone 5 was launched.
