X-Factor runner-up: "Katy Perry isn't a great role model"
Chart-topping X Factor runner-up Jahmene Douglas has taken a pop at US singer Katy Perry.

The 22-year-old Birmingham lad accused the 28-year-old Hot n Cold star of being ‘wrong’ and suggests she isn’t such a great role model during a interview with Metro’s 60 Seconds.
‘The lyrics were about threesomes and getting naked and dancing on tables and getting wasted,’ the soulful singer noted of Katy Perry’s hit song Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F) – which he refused to perform when on The X Factor.

Jahmene – who shot to the top of the album charts on Sunday with the release of his debut album of covers Love Never Fails – said he was a fan of artists like Whitney Houston who sing as though they are ‘ministering’ their lyrics as oppose to Perry’s more suggestive tunes.
‘I was thinking “I really can’t minister that message to people who might be looking up to me”,’ he said of his refusal to sing Last Friday Night.
‘It’s wrong to do that. I might be being old-fashioned. I didn’t realize what the lyrics were until I saw the lyric sheet. I was like: “Whoa!”’
"Wrong" according to his standards. It's just a fun, tongue-in-cheek pop song, really.
Pop stars should not be expected to be role models. Parents should parent instead.

Who is he to say that Katy isn't a good role model? His role model Whitney was addicted to crack and I'm sure she was doing the same as the lyrics in LFN
