Superstar Swedish Dj Avicii is currently enjoying massive success with his latest single 'Wake Me Up' with stars forming an orderly queue to work with the rising star, but this week the current chart topper revealed he has no interest in working with the likes of Rihanna or Chris Brown because they add “nothing new” to music.

However man of the moment Naughty Boy who is currently one of the most in demand producers on the planet right now has hit back at the DJs comments insisting that Rihanna is still one of the greatest artists in the world even if she doesn't write her own music telling EntertainmentWise, “(Rihanna) brings her songs alive.”

The man behind last year's biggest selling album with Emeli Sande spoke out against the controversial claims by Avicii telling us: “I disagree with that I think for me she’s the biggest artist in the world right now in every aspect and the music is a big part of that."

“I think she brings her songs alive. You couldn’t do 'Diamonds' with anyone else. She sings songs and make them feel like she’s written them. In the history of pop some of the biggest pop records haven’t been written by the artist singing them so there’s nothing new there but there’s a craft in that so I disagree with that.”

I completely agree! There's just something amazing about how convincing she is when she sings.

There are definitely artists that I think this is very true of with specific songs (Britney, Ellie and Katy come to mind) because some artists' unique voices really just add something that makes certain songs more iconic or hit-worthy. However, I do not think this is true of Diamonds, although she definitely has other songs that this is true of. Nonetheless, I'm glad that he is pointing out that who sings a given song definitely makes a big difference though and can really take a song to the next level. A great pop song is a great pop song, yes, but it takes the right delivery, intonation, vocal quirks and so on to really make it a classic.
