We reach the "Ray of Light" era again The following is a pretty stunning & beautiful track.
17.) "LIKE A FLOWER"
Submitted by: Swag
Personal Rate: 8.5/10
Description/Review:
After Like a Virgin and Like a Prayer, Madonna went Like a Flower with a ex-lover that she couldn't replace and that just kept growing on her. The lyrics are relatable to anyone who has experienced real unconditional love and the demo is simple but haunting. Imagine what it would sound like if it were included on ROL and Orbit had given it a real production. It would have probably been a masterpiece. The song in its spanish version (or italian) went to Laura Pausini.

I Want You, Love On The Run,[25] Get Up and High Society A Pat Benatar style pop-rock Madonna demo produced under the direction of Madonna's first manager Camille Barbone of August Artists Ltd and Gotham Sound Studios in New York City with guitarist Jon Gordon in 1981. All four of these tracks have leaked on the internet in high quality. Two more songs were recorded at Media Sound Studios but not used on the 1981 demo circulating at the time called Remembering Your Touch[26] and Are You Ready For It[27] which are also reasonably easily available for internet download.[28]
Quote:
Madonna's first manager, Camille Barbone, had the idea to showcase the singer as a Pat Benatar type. Check out early photos of M from this time. They looked pretty similar.
The next song, from the Music era, is actually my absolute favourite unreleased Madonna song. I wanted to submit it as well but chose a different song because KLatz already sent it in. I'll post my mini review later.
18.) "LIQUID LOVE"
Submitted by: KLatz (+ Lifeline)
Personal Rate: 8/10
Description/Review:
Another unreleased that shows the magic that Madonna and William Orbit make when they record together. Could’ve easily found its way onto Music or Ray of Light, and held its own among the tracks that made both album. Love the dark, electronic vibe I get from this song with Madonna’s sweet vocals.

Here is my initial review of "Liquid Love" for which I absolutely stan
This is an unreleased masterpiece. A total sound experience and William Orbit at his very best.I used to think it was a Ray of Light leftover and was surprised it was recorded for Music. It sort of combines "Rain", "Little Star" and "Swim" all in one for me and I can totally picture a video. Should have been on the album next to "Paradise (Not for Me)" or at least a bonus track. Actually it's single worthy, that's how great it is. Vocally she's at her best.
9/10.
A new song will come up shortly. Afterwards the BRILLIANT part 3 will begin. You all better get ready
Here is the final update of Part 2: "Deeper and Darker we go...let's get unconscious".
I submitted this track and only recently found out about it. I was instantly sold, especially since I stan for the American Life demos.
I hope you all enjoyed this part, thanks for the comments. Part 3 will slay.

Yep, this American Life outtake is indeed the song which was used as a template for parts of Confessions closer "Like It or Not": "No time to waste, let's drink the wine, Don't let the fruit rot on the vine". I love it for its nostalgic and melancholy atmosphere thanks to the additional autum, harvest and winter theme of the song. This would have made a beautiful "hidden track" on American Life after "Easy Ride".

See you all in part 3, hint of upcoming songs will be served shortly.
Ah, thank you. There's a book about Madonna which I read a while ago and I only remembered after seeing this that they compared her voice to Chrissie on that track when they were talking about Pre-Madonna.
Welcome to Part 3: "Lets bop our way to this beat heavy & jamming finale full of hit worthy material!"
The first song is not rare but since I STAN hard for it and think it's underrated I accepted it. The lyrics (current thread title), vocals, delivery, everything slays

I really love this song (my 10th most played Madge track on last.fm) I like to play it back-to-back with Heartbeat
It's a shame it doesn't have a proper clip because it would totally deserve one...
The lyrics are completely
With you I'm not a fascist, can't play you like a toy
And when I need to dominate, you're not my little boy
You see that I am hungry for a life of understanding
And you forgive my angry little heart when she's demanding
You bring me to my knees while I'm scratching out the eyes
Of a world I want to conquer, and deliver, and despise
And right while I am kneeling there
I suddenly begin to care
And understand that there could be
A person that loves me
Bop after bop as promised, here come one I submitted that I use regularly.
21.) "REVENGE"
Submitted by: Lifeline

Description/Review:
Apparently this song was meant to be a Bond soundtrack. That alone shows its amazingness. The dreamy Eastern-influenced production paired with one of Madonna's best lyrics ever makes this one of my absolute favourite unreleased songs by her. Especially the line "When you point the finger, There are three fingers pointing back at you" is so clever and true.

The song was one of the early demos of the Ray Of Light album from 1997, produced by Greg Fitzgerald and Rick Nowells in late 1997 before William Orbit's involvement in the project "Ray Of Light". In 2002 it was rumored to be the new recorded song from Madonna for the James Bond movie, and the leaked demo even got some airplay. In early 2005 it was also rumoured to be Madonna's new single from her then upcoming album Confessions On A Dancefloor. The song has since been recorded by English singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, as revealed by Peter Magennis in an interview with Greg Fitzgerald for his July 2008 cover feature for UK magazine, Record Collector (issue #351). A vinyl acetate exists, the version is 3 minutes 45 seconds.
Please comment on it whenever you want but I'll move on with these bops

This should have been on the Music album as a bonus track instead of American Pie! It's a fun but mature Madonna that we should see more often.

There's like 3 different versions of Liquid Love, it's ok.
Don't like the other tracks being discussed in part 3.
