Do you have any bad memories of shopping in retail stores? Rude employees, accused of theft, etc?
My most memorable story is from 2011. I was in St. Paul to see the Femme Fatale Tour and I wanted to get some nice videos and pictures, so I bought this camera from Walmart with the intention to return it after the concert. It wasn't a fancy DSLR or anything, it was like $250. It worked great and I didn't break it, so I went back the day after to return the camera. I remembered that typically when you walk into Walmart with an item, the greeters give you a return sticker to ensure that you didn't just come from the back of the store with a camera and try to "return" it to make money off of them. Well as I walked in with my dad, someone caught the attention of the greeter by walking out with one of those small baskets, which I guess you're supposed to leave in the store. I already had the receipt, so I wasn't really worried. I walked over to the customer service desk asking if I could return the camera. I handed the woman the receipt and she asked me where the return sticker was. I told her the woman was occupied with the basket, so she didn't see me walk in. This woman made THE biggest deal over this, and apparently my receipt meant absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, she associated with this other customer service clerk which I just can't wrap my head around. The other clerk was clearly mentally disabled, actually I'm pretty sure they were sisters. I have nothing against giving a mentally disabled person a job, but for customer service? It doesn't make sense. Anyway, they were talking and the woman said I had to talk to the manager. So the manager came out and my dad and I recounted our story of entering the store to her. She said that she talked to the greeter and the greeter had no memory of us entering. Well obviously, she was too busy freaking out over a basket to greet us

so then the manager left for 10 minutes to go look at the freaking security footage to see if we ever entered the store. She comes back and says we were NOT on the cameras. Like what? You must be ****ing blind because you can't really miss 2 people entering a store with a Walmart bag. Finally, after much deep thinking, she decides to run the refund for me.
Like what kind of Final Destination teas? That the EXACT moment I enter the store, the greeter doesn't see me, and then I never show up on the security cameras?

I was only 14 at the time too so I wonder how she thought I could think up some grand scheme to get $250 with my freaking father with me. I'm convinced that was bad karma and something I probably shouldn't try again. Spending the time to take videos ruins the concert anyway
That's the only awful story that I have, but here's an awkward one. Maybe 3 years ago I was at JCPenney with my aunt and I went to the bathroom. When I came back out, I couldn't find her. After walking around I saw someone who looked like her from the back, so I walked up to her and said "Where the hell were you?!" in a slightly sarcastic tone. This bitch turns around and makes the biggest gasp ever, I can still remember it. It went something like "uhbwoof"

I scattered out of there and texted my aunt to meet me outside the store.
Oh, and earlier this year I was at the Mall of America. I was shopping for new clothes and something to wear to the Born This Way Ball. I walked around with my dad for a little while but he wasn't really doing anything so he asked if I would care if he went to the truck while I shopped. I didn't care so I let him go. After a while I went into Nordstrom to look at the shoes and the store was too confusing for me so I left. Well I was ID'd by this guard when I tried going back to the mall. Apparently you have to be 16 to be in the mall without a parent and I was a few weeks from turning 16. He said I could call my parent or go back into Nordstrom, so I went back in and went to another floor so he couldn't watch me

then I entered the parking ramp, walked down to the bottom floor, waited for a big group of people to enter and I followed to the side of them. I got in fine and continued shopping

I had to do this again when I stupidly walked into Macy's. It was fun though, kinda sad I can't go through that again. Maybe I'll just lie and say I'm 15 next time
