On the other hand, DEMI is a very solid pop album, too many eligible singles fitting along perfectly with many meaningful ballads, so Demi remains superior.
As for the person who was dragging SD's sales as receipts, I totally respect your opinion, but for the record, sales =/= quality.
Metacritic already spoke and it's the most reliable source when it comes to quality, so we are done here.

Since when is Metacritic's statement on an albums quality ever reliable? Not when they rated Miley's best album a 48, not when they gave one of Britney's worst album (deemed so by the general consensus of Britney fans everywhere) FF has a higher score than the legendary "Blackout", and definetly not when Kanye's "Yeezus" is the highest rated album on Metacritic this year.
You can't justify Demi's quality of music over Stars Dance citing Metacrtic, since it's just a bunch of subjective critics with preferential taste giving their thoughts. They don't speak for anyone but themselves.
As stated, quality is subjective, and you are entitled to your opinion on DEMI>SD in quality. But that is all, it's your opinion. It's not the official word by any means. So stop trying to make it so, especially citing Metacritic as a receipt.
Anyway, not you coming for SD saying DEMI isn't generic when the majority of the pop songs on the album sound like they've been stolen out of a 1D demo trash bin.

And since when do critics actually base their thoughts on quality?
Go listen to FF and Blackout and come back to me and tell me Blackout isn't superior, yet was scored less. Do it.
And
Horrible receipts ? Sales are what mostly matter in the end, you can give a **** what a critic thinks. Some of the worlds most iconic songs and albums, movies etccc were hated on by critics, yet have went onto become classics and iconic.
Britney's "I'm A Slave 4 U", for example.
And as I said, it's subjective so there's no point in arguing. But it's a fact that sales account for more than just a critics thoughts.

I prefer Stars Dance but are you implying fans know more about quality than music critics?
And why are you coming for Femme Fatale in a thread that has nothing to do with Britney?
Fans prefer Blackout over Femme Fatale because they think FF is "generic trash", music critics clearly disagree and IMO FF>Blackout although I like both.
imo in quality DEMI>Stars Dance but for ME Stars Dance is better.

Again Britney? That's subjective, for ME Femme Fatale is better.
This thread is about Selena and Demi, not Britney.

sales don't ****ing matter in the end so u really ****ing think britney's debut is her best album since it sold the most ? no one gives a **** about sales except stans and label/artist wtf ?
and stop bringing up britney, i dont wanna listen to a critic or use sales to to know if i should listen to an album or not ! but if i was forced then critics
and femme fatale sold less than blackout.. does that mean its the better album ?? NO!
srsly all of ur logic in this thread...

Since when do critics know more about quality than anyone and are allowed to make opinions that are supposedly "official"? All critics are biased one way or another, there word is just as reliable as yours, and mine.
And I cited Britney as an example of how Metacritic means s**t, it was a reference, the entire post wasn't about Britney but Metacritic's flaws.

Sales don't matter in the end?
Sales don't matter in the end?
Are you insane?
Sales are what all pop artist want, they want to sell the best they can, and pop artist are designed to sell and marketed to, as well. They are nothing more than that. This is what is common between all pop artist.
If you read my post carefully you'd understand that sales =\= quality, and that I never claimed otherwise.
I did claim critics don't account for anything seeing as you can still be successful despite being bashed with negative reviews.
Sales and success account for more than a critics opinion, I never said sales makes an album better than another. Success is what artist thrive for, and if they get that, well that's awesome. Especially when they aren't "critically acclaimed".

This thread has nothing to do with quality. Read the Op.
"Which album is better in your opinion".
you don't have to prefer an album over another just because of quality...
You could have your own reasons as to why you prefer an album over another, quality is only of of many reasons used to justify your liking of the album but this thread has nothing to do with quality of albums, but your preference of why which albums you prefer.

Nor do sales represent better albums
Metacritic is there to collect opinions of music professionalists who know what they're talking about, and Selena's low score for SD did not come out of nowhere, yet you still used your sales in a thread comparing albums based on how good they are or based on how each person enjoys them, not based on commercial success, so your post about sales remains irrelevant and my post about metacritic is definitely on-topic.
