Will ARTPOP be Lady Gaga's 'Like a Prayer'?
Rolling Stone hailed it [Like a Prayer] as "...as close to art as pop music gets."
Do you think Lady Gaga's ARTPOP era will be up to the greatness of Madonna's 'Like a Prayer', or will it fail to amount to these standards? Like a Prayer was Madonna's fourth era, and ARTPOP will also be Gaga's fourth.
Make your predictions!

Will she get three smash hits and make one of the most acclaimed pop albums of all-time?
Highly unlikely, considering none of her albums so far come close in acclaim and quality, and none of her singles have been as big a hit as "Like a Prayer".

NO.
Born This Way was her attempt at Like a Prayer, which sold of course less and wasn't as good.
That was her album with preachy religious references like in the over the top Judas etc., that people (gp) got tired of.
Artpop will possibly be an attempt at Erotica... look at the Sex-Book like promo pics leaked so far

Stefani will never do anything as well as, or better than Madonna. Nobody will.

Chart positions are basically the same (even though they're not comparable because of the methodologies changing throughout the years, many countries not even having official charts in the 80s that do now, difference in single sales, no digital format, etc) but Poker Face didn't have 1/10th the impact of Like a Prayer both the song and the video. Madonna basically revolutionized music videos as a form of attracting controversy and attention with that single, nobody had courted controversy in such a calculated and effective way as that video, nor had religion been used so provocatively by a mainstream artist.

which isn't a good thing, regardless of its impact. Religions aren't supposed to be used in a provocative way or to seek attention/controversy.

Yes, in the sense that her upcoming lead single might sounds just like LAP the song.

Of course they are! Organized religion is one of the greatest forces for evil in the world, any artist that deconstructs and makes a mockery of it is worthy of praise.

Some of you can't even read, like seriously
The OP asked if ARTPOP will be GAGA'S Like A Prayer ERA, not if ARTPOP is going to be the NEW Like A Prayer era.
