Kelly Rowland and a group of friends reportedly had to be rescued at sea on Friday.
The incident occurred as the X Factor USA judge was on a weekend getaway with friends, when they rented a sea craft to go whale watching off the Massachusetts coast.
Rowland's boat apparently became "disoriented in the five-to-six-foot waves and fog that had rolled in", according to a TowboatUS Provincetown employee.
The US Coast Guard apparently soon learned of the group's trouble and attempted to escort them back to the coast.
Rowland's sea craft is said to have broken completely during the trip back to Provincetown, and ultimately had to be towed by the US Coast Guard.
The group were at sea for a total of 12 hours and were "tired and thankful" when they reached the shore, the TowboatUS employee said.
Rowland has not commented directly on the matter, but did share images from her trip to Massachusetts on Instagram.
