What is the ideal job? I might add a poll later after reading your answers.
It should include these attributes:
- makes you rich
- least stressful
- more fun
I would say something in sports like soccer. Look at David Beckham. He is playing something he loves which has made him rich, he is married to a beautiful wife, and he can do whatever he wants. The modeling endorsements also followed.
Being an actor would be awesome, specifically horror. Too bad it's basically impossible to become one because of all the people who think they can act making a joke of the industry.
I don't think sports would be the best job. My brother is a boxer and he has to keep to a strict training schedule, suffers many injuries and gets really stressed out when coming towards the fight. Plus he has to keep up a good reputation (which really applies to anyone who is famous).
But that being said, I think being a children's author would a great job. I mean look at JK Rowling and Roald Dahl. They are/were swimming in cash, adored by millions and all they had to do was create a fictional world. Plus you would do everything at your own pace and wouldn't have to deal with the paparazzi as much as actors, athletes and singers do.
Yeah author would probably be a really good job. You don't have to do public appearances if you don't want to and people aren't judging you as a person or making you be a role model like they would if you were a singer or actor. You can sell millions of copies of your book but still be anonymous to the public and not be mobbed everywhere you go. You also don't have a schedule to stick to, you could write a new book every 5 years and if you have a loyal following like Stephen King or JK Rowling they'll wait for you and keep buying your stuff and you won't be forgotten as easily as, say, a singer who chose to go away for 5 years. Not a lot of pressure. Plus books tend to last really long and keep selling even 15-20 years after they were first published so you could keep living off the revenue from that one book for the rest of your life (if it was really popular) like Harper Lee never wrote another book after To Kill a Mockingbird.
