No. The committee that decides who gets one is very biased. Beyonce could fart and they would give it a Grammy while Nicki (after having a multiple plat selling album, etc.) got snubbed for the best new artist Grammy in favor of Bon Iver..... like.... unfair and biased.

It's too hard to predict. Just because an artist is deserving of one doesn't mean chance will smile upon them. In fact, it really all depends on whom you're competing with.

Some do. Gaga has 5, Evanescence has 2, and Paramore don't have one yet.

It depends. I personally view them as more of a mark of personal success for the artist. They really don't mean much within the scope of industry value.
