I have my license. I only drive automatic. My mom put me in a stick shift and I couldn't make it out the driveway. That was my first and last time driving a stick shift. She wants me to learn before I go to college next year though.

In Europe most people drive manual cars and I like them better because they have a better performance on the road, accelerate faster etc. And driving automatic is boring, and it can make you be less attentive to the car/road while driving because it feels like the car is driving by itself.

We do have some manual cars here in the states, but very few. Most dealerships don't sell them because they cost a lot to maintain, as they WILL be sitting on the lot since most Americans WILL NOT buy them.

There's nothing wrong with driving automatic. We do so because that's what we were born into. And only disabled / elderly / dumb people? I've heard some europeans who came to the states talk about how tricky it was to drive automatic How can you drive manual, but struggle with automatic? What does that make you?

Automatic is pretty ususal here in Norway I think and it's nothing wrong with it. I'm going to get a drivers license for both, but I think I'll mostly drive automatic when that time comes (almost had an accident with "stick" yesterday..)

The people are just hasty and rude, pretty inconsiderate too. It's like they can't go around, or wait 5 f**king seconds before speeding. But what do you expect? Most people here are all about getting their way.
