new album (november/december 2014) which means new single from a new album around september/october 2014 hahaha

This album has no identity. I hear so many other pop stars in this from Rihanna (Probably the biggest) to Lady GaGa. It's not as terrible as I thought ("Slow Down" is pretty good and there are a few other songs I would spin again) but it's pretty faceless music when sung by her.

ATRL is underrating "Nobody Does it Like You"

The song is near perfection. Such an infectious chorus

Other standouts from the album are "Save The Day" and "Undercover" club anthems which gradually becomes more powerful as the song progresses. "Undercover" has a more hypnotizing feel to it though. "Music Feels Better" is more disco-influenced, very upbeat, Carly Rae Jepsen sound-a-like.

I am disappointed with her 'reggae' (<<< is that the correct word) inspired "Like a Champion" I thought "Come and Get It" had enough Rihanna in it lol.

I love it. Amazing album. Write Your Name is so gooood on the second listen, that bridge.

It is Selena debut solo album. This album is part of the process in which she is creating an identity. I wouldn't call it faceless music though. It has some originality to it. I just think electro pop and dance has been done by so many artists, fresher artists are struggling to create their own sound when they adapt this style of music.

It's not faceless.. I think she just haven't found herself musically and she is searching for a direction like most debut albums...

Did The Scene have so much to say on the sound for her past three albums though?

Lmao, did you miss the entire point of my post? And besides, Ke$ha is probably one of the last people you could use to refute my point. She has a very distinctive sound and countless people have imitated or adopted her style since her debut.

I can accept that notion. I probably did focus too much on the tracks that obviously borrowed a page from other pop star's books ("Come & Get It", "B.E.A.T", "Like A Champion").

As stated above I can accept that; I hadn't really thought of it like that.

Then I would say she kinda has found her style already, all her albums are pop (have yet to hear most of K&T + AYWR though) but this is like a step further from When The Sun Goes Down as it seems more "done". At least in my opinion

Okay... so I've listened and have loved some of Selena's songs before. But I've never really ever fallen in love with her records. I always thought she could do more, go farther.

Well, I can say that I am now officially a Selena stan. I am IN LOVE with this album. Every song has some kind of effect on me. I rarely log into ATRL to post anything... but when I do, it means that I seriously love something. And I seriously love this album. She's blown me away.

So much so that.. well, I'm a writer, and I love to write fan-fiction and for the past few years have been off and on writing my own novel. For the past few weeks, I've had an off and on want to write another fan-fiction based off of a game I've been playing. (I am a complete nerd girl, don't judge me lol.) Some stuff happened to me by a friend a couple years ago and more or less, I loss my will to write.

Selena's song Star's Dance just changed all that. The idea I had for this writing has now taken off into a whole new perspective and for the past hour I've been sitting here with that song on repeat jotting down notes and stuff for the story I'm going to write.

So thanks Selena, it seems your song has become my muse. Not to mention, the album entirely. And I just had to share my story with you all.

Soo many single worthy tracks I even don't know what I want. I hope she really is getting at least 4 singles. Anyways Save The Day has to be a single.
