I agree with you. However, I think it will change very soon. Pop radio are soon going to realize there's loads of black artists releasing the same type of music as Ariana Grande, Robin Thicke, Justin Timberlake, etc.
However, I do think, if more people had tried, they could've had crossover hits just like Justin and Robin are currently having. With Nicki Minaj's recent album for example, it wasn't that she was trying to have crossover hits and failing due to pop radio not accepting her, she wasn't even trying in the first place. I honestly think if she did try she could've got one last year. But she was just refusing to even attempt to send the same song to both formats.
Sean Kingston and Chris Brown and J Cole's recent singles crossed over to pop radio moderately well. Back in 2012 there was a time when there was not even 1 song that was in the top 50 on both pop and urban, so there has definitely been an improvement (for black artsits too), and I think it'll carry on improving.
