NOT using it as a defense, they were going for a regular self-defense case. When a defendant is using a Stand Your Ground defense, the law specifically says that
they have the burden of proof to show to show they met the Stand Your Ground guidelines.
So the difference in these trials was the burden of proof. Prosecutors had the burden of proof in the Zimmerman trial and the defendant in the other case, because she was using a Stand Your Ground defense, had the burden of proof.
