What public awareness? She was just a top 40 singer on top 40 radio alot. I dont think ppl sat at round tables and talked about Katy Perry. She wasnt part of any movement unlike Gaga for instance.
Albums? Within that era, Adele, Rihanna and Gaga all released albums that sold better than TD.
