It's not surprising. She was on Jive Records but had her debut album shelved. Not to mention she had a song on the Step Up soundtrack. I mean, her debut album also was supposed to have Max Martin, Timbaland, Darkchild & Stargate productions on it.

And she also co-wrote and sang back-up vocals for Positivity by Ashley Tisdale and has also co-written for JoJo.

So she at least worked in the US prior to her moving back to Australia and then trying out and winning the fourth season of X Factor there.

I think this is why Samantha's album of her X Factor performances was released in the US and not Reece's.

It would be awesome if Firestarter became a hit in the US. Not only would it give The X Factor Australia their first international winner, but it would also give us a big kiii since she'll outsell both of the US X Factor winners if she does and outpeak them as well.

WOW that is an EXTREMELY impressive roster of producers. We can only hope she has as much luck with her album this time around.

Right? I'm so mad she didn't get a chance to release that album. There could've been some hot tracks on it.

Nonetheless, Firestarter is definitely a HOT track and I bet she'll have hot producers on her album.

Her album should be hot though, since she rightfully HAS The X Factor

I mean, no lie, the right person won the X Factor Australia in 2012...and she beat out a country singer too.

It's definitely a hot track but I am not sure if it's "different" enough to stand out and be a big hit.

The album will be mainly produced by DNA Songs, but there could be some surprise collaborations on it. Sure, she worked with some amazing producers in the past, but it seems that Samantha is still very limited by X Factor's restrictions for now. We'll see what she has up her sleeve for the new album.

She wants to focus on Australia as a market right now, so I wouldn't write too much into Firestarter being released in the US. They have probably no promo planned for it and Samantha said in several interviews she doesn't want to ever live there again, seeing how it's such a dark place for her personally. She plans to conquer the UK though once the time is right and I also think that's a perfect move.

Well, still, she'll be a star to come out of X Factor Australia for the rest of the world. And her US fans can still stan for her and not have the radio overplay it to death
