Is Lady Gaga the most creative mainstream artist out right now? Based on her fashion, music videos, album covers, and music. Is she presenting a whole other level of artistry to the public or is someone else outshining her creatively?
Yes completely, especially since she's behind 90% of her ideas and music, unlike ALL the main pop girls out right now. That is the only correct answer by default. Sorry bout it!
She is creative, but I don't know if she's the most creative. I can't really decide to be honest. Yes, she's more creative than 99.999999% of the pop girls...but she has her misses I guess. Whatever makes Monsters happy anyway since they run ATRL
Creativity is hard to define, especially when you're not overseeing the creative process itself. I'm not saying that she isn't creative- it's obvious she is, but I feel (even as a a stan myself) that people give that to her because of her appearance and how she carries herself.
Surely it's very New York to have one's attitude and fashion sense as a cornerstone of your creative powers, but I believe that people's high expectations of her as a result of that is what leads to some backlash when she doesn't (or can't) deliver. And she's not infallible, it happens (BTW videos).
That being said, she clearly has a sense of vision for her looks and videos (for better or for worse) and as a musician herself, she's incredibly involved with most of the aspects of her musical output, including her shows. That being said, I wouldn't say any of that makes her the "most creative."
No mainstream pop artist of our generation is creative or an innovator. All of them take from the past. This includes Gaga. However, with that said, Gaga is the closest to a visionary that we have so she wins practically by default. She knows how to put her own spin on vintage creations-both musical & aesthetic. You never know what she may do next. Whereas with the others, you pretty much know what you are getting.
