Windows 8 is a horrific operating system that does not translate well to touch screen.

Android devices are not manufactured by the same people who produce the software, meaning that the software does not take full advantage of the hardware.

The only suitable and respectable choice left, is the iPad or the iPad mini. You can go for the iPad mini because it looks nicer, or you can go for the iPad 5 in the fall which will take design cues from the mini.

Or, the iPad mini 2 in the fall which is expected to have Retina.

Basically, Apple is the right choice.

With iOS 7 on the iPad looking alot better than iOS 7 on the iPhone, an iPad 4 or 5 is a really good bet.

I don't like iOS 7 much on my phone, but my friend put it on her iPad and it's incredible.
Don't get anything with the word "Galaxy" in it like I did. They are really clunky to use.

And Nexus is good. I like the Kindle Fire HD as well considering what you get for the price.

Windows Tablets are good in app modes, but I have a Windows 8 tablet and I've found It really annoying to use without a keyboard and mouse after a little while.

Since I only own an iPad, Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Windows 8 Tablet (which can run rather slow even with a 2.5GHZ Core i5 Pro) so far the iPad still wins for me. But Windows is still a good option.

The Galaxy Tab is **** and my I let my brother use since when I do I never want to use it.

Nexus 7 if you don't have much money.

Nexus 10 if you can spare some more money.

I've had my IPad 2 for about two years now and it's still in awesome shape and works wonderfully. It's so easy to navigate and ugh I just love it. I would definitely recommend it

Nexus 7
iPad Mini
Lenovo Ideatab
Kindle Fire HD

I will not do heavy work on it. Just read books, relax and watch some movies. Do a little browsing.

My main points:
- Price
- Battery Life
- Screen
- Fluidity

I don't need an expensive tablet. I'll go as much as 400 dollars but the lower the better.

The nexus 7 is the best choice.

iPad mini low res screen is a no.

A big no to the kindle, the lag will leave you twitching miserably. Idk about the Lenovo one.

Color saturation on the Nexus 7 is worrying me. Screen looks MUCH brighter on the iPad mini.

If you don't live in the US, a kindle won't be that much use

Nexus 7. Just saw the review. I'm still torn between that and an iPad mini.

You best not be forgetting about the Lenovo Ideapad (or any other Windows 8 tablets)

Just an update. I got the first generation Nexus like almost a month ago and I'm loving it and Android.

Don't worry, Oprah. I'll be checking out Windows soon. Abel gave me Windows 8 and I will be upgrading I just need a little time to backup my files. Windows Phone next upgrade. Which will be on 2015.

By 2015 the OS will be fully matured and ready for you to grace it with your presence.

Plus, the price difference in my country.

Nexus 7 (1st) 32 GB = 9,000 (around 210 USD)
Nexus 7 (2nd) 32 GB = 15,000 (around 350 USD)

It's not worth the 140 dollars. Just with a slightly better screen and processor? Nahh..

But the new Nexus 7 is much better.

The new Kindle is supposed to be a spec monster (for some reason).
