Google Nexus 7 is the best. i have it and i cant be more satisfied.

Don't even waste your time with a Windows tablet. Based on the one you have mentioned get an iPad.

And remember a tablet is not meant to replace a laptop/desktop (it supplements it) always keep that I'm mind and go from there.

iPad 4 > Xperia Tablet Z > Nexus 10 > Nexus 7 >>>>>>>>> Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 = Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.0

I really want the Xperia Tablet Z, but might wait for the iPad 5

of course. nexus in general gives a better balance between price and performance and even edges out the ipad on some areas.

$399 isn't bad. I paid about the same for my Nexus 4.

Hmmm. I have a Laptop but I need to start reading and I think an "okay" tablet will do. I can't afford the 500 dollar tablets. If I'm getting a 500 dollar one I'd rather get a Windows Laptop that can be converted as a tablet.
