this is my very same argument every time something like this comes up with any religious person going this far.

i mean, sure it's a sin (and this is based on the religious point), but it doesn't tarnish any religious person to allow others the right to their own beliefs and just think allowing gay marriage falls under that. and i'm disappointed at any Christian who goes out of their way to involve themselves in the lives of those who aren't seeking the religion out themselves, that's not how Christianity works and dsikfgdsfdsfsdfdsff

Luckily, my church doesn't speak against gay marriage at the service. Though they did have all of these articles on their website celebrating about how the government voted against gay marriage and to urge people to call their local members of parliament to express their concerns about it.

I can't even fathom the idea of how the church preaches about loving each other etc. but then turn around and do that.

It doesn't surprise me, a lot of churches are messy. That's why I only really go at Christmas with the family. If your faith is important to you, maybe search around for a more accepting church

The main concern of every church should be all-encompassing love. After all, that's what Jesus preached. He loved prostitutes and criminals when everyone else despised them.

Things like this is why religion is ever so slowly dying out in the western world. Many churches preach love and acceptance, but they don't act on it. It's sad

I feel for you sis.

My Church has always been good with the gheys. The organization that owned the land our Church was built on banned gays from getting married, so the Church bought out the land with its own money so they could perform same-sex ceremonies. And just last year I heard our new pastor pray for the LGBT community so that they may be strong when faced with discrimination. Our Church has a lot of gray hairs so I was surprised, but it was nice.

Also, just down the road from our Church there is another one that has a rainbow flag above it and on its bulletin board. I don't live in a huge city either so it's cool to see.
