social networking sites act as a significant communication service for the youth. even if you block the bully the victim is still conscious they may be posting shtabout them on their wall or something (which can worry the victim to a great extent), or with sites like ask fm and tumblr you cannot block people and can also send anonymous hate. blocking the bully wont prevent them from cyberbullying anyone. just look at atrl.

But step away from the computer. Bullies need flame and often then not you being there will feul their power. I think instead of trying to stop cyberbullying we should be trying to stop the causes of it. Parents need to be more responsible for their kids and what they are doing online. Even teens.

Sorry but I have a hard time understanding cyberbullying. Because if I was in that position I would not even bother with those sites, I would just ignore it. And if it gets out of have believe me they will get what's coming to them. I just think its more off an issue of slandering and harrassment.

The kids in this generation can't "step away from those sites" though. That's how they stay in touch with all of their friends. If they step away, they end up totally alone.

That's great that you're a tough person, but it really shouldn't be too difficult to realize that not everyone is like you. Especially not kids going through puberty.

And that's totally the issue. Maybe this is the repercussions of now living in an always connected society, where the Internet allows for this type of aggression. Like I mentioned before, the root of the issue needs to be fixed first. Before trying to patch that problem. You can't just make it an offense and hope that it will stop. Try to find a way to stop these issues when they begin. And that begins at home with the child and parents.
