Jay-Z doesn’t do things by half. According to the NY Post, Hov is planning to perform on the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theater in Times Square on July 8, to be aired on the Late Show with David Letterman. The city may have forced Jay and Eminem’s performance to the roof of the theater back in 2010, but he’s reportedly close to getting the go-ahead from the Mayor’s office this time around. If so, the show will “turn rush-hour Times Square into a gigantic street party,” sources say.
Like you need any more reminders, Jay-Z’s new Magna Carta Holy Grail album arrives July 4.
UPDATE: Jay gets the green light. The NY Post now report that the city has approved Hov’s performance on the marquee of the famous theater. This will mean closing Broadway from West 53rd to 54th street during rush hour.
