I don't see the big deal. People are disrespectful to all sorts of religious figures all the time. Doing so to Muhammad is only a big controversy because people who do typically end up either dead or on fire.

In most cases it's not about disrespecting religion, it's about challenging it, because no one is superior to anyone , not even a divinity
