Western Canada is about to get a much needed break from the rain. In the form of a record-breaking heat wave.

The Southwestern US, could actually record the hottest temperatures in history this weekend.

Death Valley, California could reach 55 degrees C or hotter (130F +) Arizona, Nevada and California deserts could reach close to 120F.

Even the Northwest likes of Seattle and Portland will nudge past 100F!

I'll be outside, as I'm helping my friend clean up his place. It got destroyed in the floods we had last week. But the heat doesn't really bother me.

Worst part about this heat wave is its timing. Were under an outdoor water ban, which means no sprinklers. And there's still thousands of people here who don't have power, which means no air conditioning in most of downtown.

God no. We just went through massive flooding thanks to weeks upon weeks of rain. The northwest NEEDS extended periods of dry weather.

Aridzona always reaches unusually high temps in the summer.
