Forbes doesn't have access to anybody's bank account. They estimate over a year how much an artist makes, which is why after the Hip-Hop Cash King list came out last year, Nicki tweeted about their estimation being totally wrong.

The good thing about the Hip-Hop Cash Kings List is that it's PURELY Income based. It doesn't deduct anything for management, lawyers, rent, mortgage exc. some other sites like to estimate those things and usually deduct the normal 10% manger fees, Which Nicki said was way off what she's pays, didn't she say it was like 1%? aha. The dates that they count are between May 2012 & May 2013. So it will include the the Pink Friday: Reloaded Arena tour, whig started in October and ran into December, 12 Mill AI, 5 Mill NYE, perfume, Re-Up & so on. Should be a great year.
