Britney has gotten #1s with and without Dr. Luke, before and after HIAM. Dr. Luke is not the be all, end all for Britney. In the end, Britney is a great artist and Luke is a very polished producer and them together usually create some sort of magic that is usually missing between Luke and the other groups of artists that he works with.

Also, let's NOT forget what Dr. Luke original specialty was: Creating HIP-HOP/URBAN tracks. An updated modification to a familiar genre that he was adept in? The world isn't ready for Britney's 8th album. I can already see this being her highest rated album of all time.

As a final note on this tope, if Dr. Luke or Max or Will's production alone made songs hits, then there would be a lot more pop stars out there (like the Becky G's or Sabi's Luke keeps trying to make happen) who would see the same amount of success that Britney has over a career that has lasted for almost 15 years. Britney has always had that draw and "it" factor as a pop star, and whether you personally like her or not, that has remained evident over the years. There are other producers out there in the pop world and Luke is not some god and guaranteed hitmaker that pop artists "need" to remain relevant. I think Warrior probably would have sold a lot more if that was the case. But anyway I'm not gonna argue this point anymore because it will obviously go nowhere.

well i'm in this thread because i enjoy pop music, i like pop music but i'm not delusional. even if i like katy perry or ke$ha or britney i know they are pop artists and they work for the gp. they try to do music that is popular and sells. that's why they try to do whatever it's popular , i'd never complain about katy working with dr. luke because i use her or not, i don't pretend she's better than that.
britney has some great songs, but she's just like every other popstar and ofc she's going to use dr. luke, after all he gave her two big hits recently HIAM and TTWE the same situation with will.i.am, he and britney had a huge smash recently.. are you expecting her to ignore them and work with someone who innovates like xtina did with bionic?
britney doesn't want to flop, she will do it safe.

Well if you had actually read my posts in here before throwing out "Britney can't sing" posts, you would see that my overall point was not that I'm expecting her to "ignore" the producers because she has had hits with them before, but just that I'd like to see her branch out. I'm not delusional or an idiot for wanting that, or for thinking that even pop music can be interesting (even by a major pop act). As a fan, I KNOW she has branched out before with producers (again, see the work I mentioned before) and created interesting music as a collaborative effort, which is a big part of pop music. It was my preference that she try this out again, just like it had been reported that she was doing so far before the Luke rumors. ITZ had plenty of great and different pop tracks that she co-wrote on even, and she was heavily involved in that process, so I'd just like to see that again. If you had brought up half of your points cohesively like this in earlier posts, people would probably have an easier time having a discussion with you about this.

All good and valid points. Glad you are able to speak your points in away that doesn't come across as pretentious or troll-worthy.

I think if he does end up working on the album, his work will likely be more hip-hop/urban leaning. That is the kind of Luke I'd like to hear if it happens. There's no denying his talent by any means. I just would like to see him come fresh with this next album if he ends up on it. Nonetheless, I don't see this album turning into FF 2.0 at this point even if Luke is on board, especially with the circle of producers currently involved and the goal to make a more urban-leaning album.

Noone's acting like Britney is some mastermind at creating music but she can do way better than working with Dr.Luke again. His sound is outdated now and noone is here for him anymore, he was fine for Circus and FF but enough is enough.

And why the **** is that Katy and Fall Out Boy stan tryna make it seem like Britney is hungry for success. Find a damn seat and take that stick out of your ass, this is the same woman who has done less than TEN promo performances in the past 10 years. She doesn't give a **** about commercial success, sit the hell down.

Jean's right though. Dr. Luke is very talented, it's just obvious when he's being paid more for better songs and when he's producing as a favor or something. If Britney wanted a deeper and interesting theme for album 8, Dr. Luke is definitely capable.
