Baptiste defends Dr Luke after fan backlash

Quote:
Britney Spears producer Jean Baptiste has defended Dr Luke after fan backlash about his possible involvement on the singer's eighth studio album.
The producer - who is working closely with the singer and executive producer will.i.am on the record - told fans that they should "judge the music when it arrives".
Dr Luke was heavily involved in Spears's 2011 LP Femme Fatale, producing singles such as 'Hold It Against Me' and 'Till The World Ends'.
Baptiste took to Facebook to tease fans over the weekend, posting: "To all the Britney fans there's a little rumour that I'm gonna be in the studio next week with Savan and Ammo. Ssssshhhhhhh!!!!!"
Savan and Ammo are members of Dr Luke's production team, which caused some Spears fans to voice their disapproval.
Some fans tweeted the producers demanding they "get away" from the singer's new album.
Baptiste then posted a further message to Spears fans: "You guys need to stop bashing Dr Luke on here. He's an iconic f**king producer with more than a decade of smashes plus he's a friend.
"If some of you fan(atics) think you can do a better job than us, reach out to the label lol. Judge the music when it arrives."
Dr Luke also co-produced Spears's latest single 'Ooh La La', taken from the upcoming Smurfs 2 movie.
The 'Toxic' singer revealed last week that her upcoming record is due out before the end of the year, adding that many will be "surprised" by the album's sound.

I think this was already posted as it unfolded, but nonetheless, I don't think there is anything wrong with fans not being thrilled at the idea that Luke might be involved again. Honestly, of the last handful of tracks he's responsible for, Hold It Against Me and Inside Out are the only usable ones that don't sound stale.

He's kinda right, Dr. Luke may have some generic trash but songs like Inside Out >>>
Not him using the word "iconic" to describe Dr. Luke tho

He's right. Some fans are pretentious, TTWE and HIAM are some of her biggest hits in the last years.

I mean, who uses Trip to Your Heart, Big Fat Bass and Drop Dead Beautiful? They're absolute trash, some of the most atrocious production out there.

She's working with many other producers, so assuming their tracks actually make it to the album, I don't care. HIAM was amazing so if he can serve work of similar quality I'll be happy.

That's not true at all. The label will completely ignore any songs sent by random unknown people. They probably get thousands of songs sent to them all the time, and it's still the same few producers doing all the work. It's obvious they ignore them all, unless it's someone who has connections (I don't really blame them, after all, who has the time to listen to so many songs/beats?).

Dr. Luke does get a lot more hate than deserved from ATRL. Never understood how we stan for who we stan but then go on to disrespect the producers that lent a giant hand in the artists' careers.

I don't think it's pretentious at all to want her to work outside of the norm and branch out to some of the producers who have been discussed for this album so far and not fall back to the old familiars. As a huge fan, I just don't want to be bored with her next album by having it be a rehash of the last couple of albums.

Then you shouldn't stan for a popstar who pays other people to write some hits for her in order to be relevant. That's the reason why she works with people like Dr. Luke, Max Martin and will.i.am.

I'll give you Big Fat Bass and Drop Dead Beautiful, but seriously Trip to Your Heart has some outstanding production. The song itself may not be the catchiest on the album for the people who crave the immediate hook, but Bloodshy does NOT **** around with his production.

Are you kidding me? In the Zone, Blackout and the Someday EP consecutively saw her work with producers that helped make some of her best music, and at those respective times those producers were not plastered all over Top 40 radio like the RedOnes and Lukes of today. That is the type of direction that I'd like to see her take as a fan. So maybe you should just educate yourself for a second before making asinine comments like this when she is clearly capable of making pop music that is not cookie-cutter and recycled radio dreck. Or not, since clearly you are here to troll and this is the wrong forum to be bringing up and shading artists who "pay other people to write some hits". Let's really not.
