"Man of Steel" Surpasses "Superman Returns" in 10 Days
Quote:
"Man of Steel" has officially surpassed the entire box office earnings (domestic & international) of director Bryan Singer's 2006 film, "Superman Returns".
During it's entire theatrical run, "Superman Returns" managed to rake in a worldwide total of $391 million at the box office. In just ten days, however, "Man of Steel" has already bested that total with worldwide earnings of $398.3 million ($210M - domestic, $188.3M international).
Even with this past weekends release of fellow blockbusters "Monsters University" and "World War Z", which finished in the first and second spots in the box office respectively, "Man of Steel" continued to perform above expectations and secured the third spot in the domestic box office and held onto the #1 spot in the international box office.
Although "Man of Steel" has received mixed reviews from critics, fans have embraced the film and have been generally positive in their reviews of the Zack Snyder reboot.
I'm talking about US+overseas. It's already made 398 and still has a long way to go (hasn't opened in a few territories yet) so it won't just make 600 million around the world.
