There is no hype in getting a top 5 hit in Australia only... As for the voice... YAY AUstralia has a White Male with a story , bogan Aussie make me sick. Why don't we pick someone with a bit of culture behind them like Ms Murphy.
I wanted Ms Murphy to win so bad, but Karise Eden won last year and that wasn't a generic move on the public's part. It was kind of shocking because everyone though Sarah De Bono would win because she was seen as the girl who would have the "top 10 smash" radio appeal. But no.
You can say a lot about Australia, but we know good music. Our iTunes Top 200 is more diverse than the US or UK etc. and plus the Triple J compilations of independent music sells more than most pop albums here.
