ok, slippery slope here.
now, while i do personally not like racism, i still do think this is being blown out of proportion. for one thing, there's being racist and then there's using racial slurs. using slurs doesn't necessarily mean you're racist and assuming that of someone only perpetuates the concept of racism and discrimination. in her case it's true, she grew up during a time and household where using those slurs wasn't really seen as a bad thing, so she wouldn't have seen it as a bad thing even now.

But this is the south where racism ran and still to an extent runs rampant it isn't simply using slurs its hate for another race. She should know better by now and the fact she never called anyone a ****** to their face shows she knows its wrong deep down.

also, i like how it's considered alright if a black person uses the n-word in an aggressive style, but if a white person uses it as if it's just another word in their vocabulary with no malicious intent, that person is condemned a racist. like wow really? defensive much?
|
Cause its not the same thing they're two different meanings behind it when someone black says it.
When a black person says it it doesn't give a white person the right to say it and i hate it when some whites ask well they can say it why can't i?.
I don't particular agree with either but they're two different contexts at work.

i just think, and i don't mean this as a generalization just an observation, that most black people take offense to so many little things that white people do without considering all the angles. no, clearly the person is racist because they said the word ****** and they're not black. it's the only logical explanation.
but i guess that's just society for you. in an attempt to dismantle the ignorance of society you then create even more ignorance. how ironic.
|
Cause there is no angle its point blank. Blacks are profiled everyday we are automatically thought as less than due to the color of our skin we are automatically thought of as criminals for just being black. In what world when a white person calls you a ****** that it doesn't have malicious intent? it does and they know it too.

yes because people who partake in unhealthy lifestyles are horrible human beings and clearly need to be burned at the stake.

I agree with you here, so what if she makes unhealthy food you can simply not eat it.

further proving my point. what an ignorant post, racism isn't exclusive to black people and we can comment on an issue if we're educated enough to discuss it, and clearly you're not if you're retorting with this.
it's an issue, so we're discussing. if you have any well thought out view you'd like to weigh in then do it. don't put down other people's opinions just because they don't match your skin color. it makes you no better than the white racist bigot.
|
It doesn't make him a bigot his point is that some white people try to tell us how we should feel cause they don't see anything wrong it. They see nothing wrong with it cause it isn't affecting them.
Its like when someone gets robbed and the bystander goes up to them and tells them to get over it.
