Well I will see, maybe the video will changing the world's mind maybe not, but who knows.

My question is how are you an Ashlee fan if she's had the same sound since the beginning? And really "Autobiography" was really more rock, while "I Am Me" was a little more pop, IMO.
Mariah to me has always sounded the same but she just gets better production, Nelly sold out working with Timbaland and her next album will do terribly, Kelly just got darker and she flopped. JoJo also flopped. So you're comparing Ashlee to flop artists?
I doubt we'll get a single this week or next, cause there would a lot of talk. Like when "Gimme More" was coming out it was being talked about 2 weeks before.

I agree with you. Again I will use Aerosmith as an example. They have kept the same "sound" for over 30 years. However, none of their albums sound the same and their style has progressed while keeping true to their rock roots. What Ashlee has done would be the equivalent of Aerosmith going from rock to country. Although Aerosmith has had songs that have a country sound to them (Back in the Saddle, Sedona Sunrise) but for Aerosmith to release a country album would be a disaster. Just as Ashlee releasing an urban album will be a disaster. Ashlee should stick to the sound that made her what she is.

I Am Me was pretty much still pop/rock to me...i mean, there was L.O.V.E but apart from that it was still pretty much in the same vein as Autobiography. I'm not sure about Ashlee ... part of me wants her to release the album in Dec. so she can get the christmas sales and because i just want new material from her but then theres so much competition this fall, an early 2008 release would probably be better sales-wise.
She needs to KILL with the first single. People have kinda forgotten about her imo, she needs to make a mark with this album. I really think she should be doing songs like Avril, i've always thought their music was similar especially with Avril's new cd. I could imagine Ashlee releasing Keep Holding On, Girlfriend and Hot.

No. That's when sales are WORSE. did you see this year and 2006? sales are so low in January and February, it's not funny. Rememebr "Dreamgirls" soundtrack was #1 with 60,000 copies. It might be better for a #1 album because I'm sure she'd at least break 150K after Xmas, 1st week wise, but her sales would drop and that's not good.

Exactly.
to Delicious: If you really listen to those albums, 'Autobiography' has a lot more rock oriented tracks. (Autobiography, Lala, Love Me for Me, Shadow, etc.) while 'I Am Me' was more pop (Boyfriend, L.O.V.E., Burnin' Up, Dancing Alone). She definitely lost the initial sound from her debut, which could've also been a reason for the bad sales cause I doubt SNL was all the reason for losing over 2 million fans. Her sound changed drastically. While it still kept that pop/rock feel, it was definitely leaning more towards pop.
So if she lost so much just trying to be more pop, she definitely won't get anywhere going Urban. If anything she'll get bad reviews for trying to go Urban for more success, and bad reviews = bad sales.

I Am Me reviews said that it is so similiar to Autobiography and it didn't sold too much like Autobiography, and you really think the people will seeing to Ashlee with an Autobiography sound after her SNL scandal, people will saying that she's a poser.. I love Autobiography but it had bad reviews too and it sold great, Ashlee needs like Jessica a reality show, I'm sure this CD will flop in USA but I think Ashlee will be working hard in Europe because there not all the people know her and the little that they know is Chicago and is in UK and that's is not pop/rock. With this 2 track We can't judge the entire album because Murder could be the "L.O.V.E." of the album and Rulebreaker (<333) could be something like "Eyes Wide Open", maybe she wanna rock but she wanna catch all the urban people or hip hop fanatics that are most than pop/rock people. If she wanna increase her fanbase she has to catch more people and I'm sure with an Autobiography sound, she won't catch nothing except her fans. And about the single is too early for a video because Britney is lauching her video a month before than her release and Alicia Keys too but maybe Ashlee wanna impact with the video and the song at the same time like she did in Invisible.

Actually the girls are not pop /rock anymore look Avril and look Pink they're the exactly example of a rock essence and now they're more pop than Ashlee with Boyfriend.

^but listen to their albums. Yeah "GF" and "Stupid Girls" were very pop, but their albums still give off that rock style.

Well actually she barely promoted internationally also. Every album she went and promoted late.
It's not too early. "Pieces of Me" video came out May 2004 (album in July), "Boyfriend" came in September 2005 (album in October). And with all the huge contenders (Mary + Mariah) releasing albums around her, she needs to be promoting NOW. Mary, Britney, Mariah, and Alicia all work mainly off of there names. They don't need too much promotion as someone like Ashlee.
Trust me if she goes to an Urban sound she will flop around the world. IMO, if she went back to her more pop/rock sound, the true one, people will begin to be more interested. If she goes Urban she'll be the laughing stock of the music business.

I can't imagine the future because I'm not a prediction man, I Am Me show me that the people are not interested in Ashlee's rock sound at least for Invisible that is less pop and more rock, Mariah had not single yet and she has rumors like Ashlee. Ashlee has two options or make or break but if she comeback with an Autobiography she will be like I Am Me again and it doesn't help too much for her career. Mariah, Alicia and Mary J. Blige are women that performs her first single in a award show, music shows, talk shows, Ashlee with Boyfriend only did in Australia Music Awards and a lot of TV shows but Invisible was a not promoted only in her L.O.V.E. tour and it did a great debut but less run.

^It's not imagining. But you're obviously a stan who won't look into reality. At least with me + Britney, I can realize something for what it is. Same for Darryl. He can look beyond being a fan of Ashlee and face the reality when it comes to the music.
The reason she dropped in sales with "I Am Me" is because of the SNL incident, and I know I said I doubt that was the main reason and it's not, but just from that one thing she lost many fans. Many felt betrayed because Ashlee was finally a raw artist people could look up too, then she gets caught lyping.
I hope for a success, but FROM THE FACTS AND THE CURRENT STATE, she has no chance.

^He is the unique Ashlee Fan that is saying that new material sucks because look the other people, he and you are the only that are with bad comments, and I wanna say you something but not offend but Britney's sound is not amazing, if Ashlee release something like Gimme More she would flop more hardest than other, Britney is Britney and she has hit because is her and Ashlee is Ashlee she has fans too and still support her and still love her. and if Ashlee flop well she can make scandals and she will gain a lot of popularity.

^not really. a lot of people have said the song is bad and stuff. It's your opinion, just like it is mines about Ashlee, to not like Britney's new sound. but she's trying something different, pop/dance/urban, and it's getting praised. all the critics love the song, the video, and from those who've heard it, the album.
Yes Ashlee would flop if she released "Gimme More" because she's not known for being a pop/urban artist like Britney and that song is. Britney is a hit because she is an icon, just like I said about Mariah, Mary, and Alicia. They are hits because of their name, success, and fans.
Ashlee is known for her sound. She's not big enough or been around long enough to establish herself to be big thanks to her name. And I know that last line saying about the scandals was a hit toward Britney. What is happening to Britney IS NOT scandals, and she's not making them. You are so mean for f*cking saying that when you don't know what is going on.

I have to say, Invisible would have been a lot bigger hit if there was an album to back it up. It was like a nothing single. She was supposed to have re-released I Am Me and that didn't happen. Once the re-release didn't happen Invisible died. But I believe if Invisible was a single from the new album it would have done a lot better than it did.
I was also thinking about the same thing today...if Ashlee Simpson released "Gimme More" as her single all the Britney fans would hate it. Right now I think Britney could release a single of her farting and it would go #1. I will say that Gimme More is a catchy song but it's not that great. It's like any other pop song.
But Ashlee and Britney have completely different sounds. I doubt Britney could pull off a song like I Am Me, Beautifully Broken, or Boyfriend any more than Ashlee could pull off Gimme More, or Toxic.

But yeah "GM" isn't supposed to be great as a song. It's great as far as for the clubs/radio aka promotion. her better material is usually deeper in her album. her first singles are never serious to me, they are just hot.
Anyways I probably would hate if Ashlee released "GM", I would be so like 'that's not Ashlee', ya know? I've already settled into the sound I like from her, I just like to see her develop it, not completely change it. I could see Britney releasing some of Ashlee songs, mainly "Shadow", could u not? LOL it wouldn't be much of the same meaning, but I could see her singing it.
