As we all know, this song was one of the first true EDM songs to top the chart, and since it last topped the Hot 100 in 2012 for the weeks of Jan. 21 & Jan. 28, there have been no other EDM songs to top the chart. In fact, there hasn't even been any dance songs to top the Hot 100 since then. Will this iconic opus be the last EDM/Dance smash to top the Hot 100 for a while?

Gaga's new single probably will top the Billboard chart based on her name alone.

Well, not the last (maybe Get Lucky will get there if that counts).

But I think it could be a while before another dance-pop song can get #1 in the Hot 100. Dance-pop was huge from 2006-2011, but it's kind of faded since, so I think there won't be loads of dance-pop #1s anymore for a while. But dance-pop will probably make a comeback in a few years again.

Blurred Lines is blocking Get Lucky. It has surpassed it on radio and the sales are not even comparable.

But seriously, EDM/Dance is not dead. There will be other dance/EDM successful songs... some of them could reach the #1.

Obviously this type of music is losing popularity (in the US at least). I doubt it will be the last, Get Lucky has a chance to get there. But if WFL is the last I would't be surprised.
