A nasty rainstorm caused rivers to swell in Southern Alberta. 20 communites in the city of Calgary as well several towns surrounding the city are under manadatory evucations (Up to 100,000 which is about 10% of the cities population, easily a record.)
Downtown Calgary is CLOSED. (Which NEVER happens, ever.) The Calgary Zoo is closed (also never shuts down due to weather usually either.)

Here are some photos of the insanity.
There is also still ALOT more rain in the forecast too.
Luckily I don't live near the river, but I have friends who have been evucated.
UPDATE: 2 people were confirmed dead in High River due to the floods.
NEW UPDATE (As of June 25th) Most of Calgary's evacuees have been allowed to return home. Most of the Downtown core has power restored. Transit services has partially been restored to the flood effected areas.
The Town of High River is still closed off to the general public. It is under miltary lockdown as its not safe for anyone to return. The town is being described as a "ghost town / war zone." Virtually the entire town has been destroyed, and could take 10 years to rebuild
The province of Alberta has promised to commit $1 billion to help Albertians with flood recovery.
