Yes it will. Unlike Microsoft, Sony is actively pursuing ways for gamers to be backwards compatible. While the technology keeps it from being able to physically play older games, they are launching a cloud service that allows players to stream PS3 games within a few months of the PS4 launch. Their eventual goal is to go as far back as the PS1.

Nintendo is no position to clock anyone.. well everyone can clock Mircro$oft now, but you know
and I'm not talking about the Wii Useless sales, but how the games are a mess, and not fun (unlike the 3ds)
What a BS argument. Just because I trade in a game doesn't mean I dont like it anymore or its not quality. They're making dry points, and perhaps a tad bitter from the fact nobody will buy their Wii U games new or old, considering nobody is purchasing the console in the first place.
Look, I get what Iwata is saying, I do. But the reason Sony is focused so much on used games is that Microsoft is Sony's DIRECT competition in the VG market. They want to slay the Microsoft beast first, and their current strategy is their means of bringing it down. The PS4 will have great exclusives worth keeping, I'm not worried about that in the slightest.
