As the time nears midnight, you start to knock on your own front door, 22 times. The 22nd knock has to be the stroke of midnight, and you then blow the candle out and relight it. Doing this is said to invite the Midnight Man into your home, where you must walk around in complete darkness with the candle as your source of light. If the candle goes out, it means he's near, and you have to light your candle within ten seconds OR make a circle around yourself in salt and stay inside of it. Other things that can happen are the room can go cold, you could hear a whisper, or even see a humanoid figure as you're walking around. This continues until 3:33am, whereupon if you've done everything correctly, you have won the game. If you lose, there are threats of insanity or even death.

but i would never do it in my own home.. maybe in my friend's house someday!!  why bring evil upon my own house!!
but till 3:33am is too long.. what are we supposed to do all this time, just relight the candle and stand in the circle?

You are supposed to walk around and not get "caught" by the midnight man...I want to play it with my friends even though I don't believe jack **** of it but the experience of being in the dark in a big house with scared friends who believe in this stuff will make it really creepy

The foreplay was never this extensive in my game, tho...
Anyway, whoever came up with this just gave me an idea for something. I'm getting next level Candyman teas.

I play that game all the time... lighting candles, blowing them out, and getting chased around in the dark by the man.

ooh now it sounds interesting!!! 
the start sounds creepy with the blood and the knocks.. but after that it sounds awesome!! this would be one hell of a game if you play it in a big empty house with lots of room to walk around!!! 
i dont think there's gonna be any midnight man either, but i'll keep this in mind when i am in a mood to scrae the **** out of my friends too!!
P.s. btw, if you google 'The Midnight Man/Game' you get some great pictures and a youtube video of two people doing it!!
