I think she really did receive an email. From either Madonna or someone impersonating her. I mean, why would she lie about something that could make things look much worse?
I think she got an e-mail from someone in Madonna's team...perhaps without Madonna's knowledge. When you're at that level of fame, people don't exactly shoot you an e-mail. They talk through PAs, publicists, record labels etc. There's a lot of red tape to get through.
Perfect example was the Weird Al Perform This Way situation. He asked for permission and was essentially told Gaga didn't want it put out, even though Gaga knew nothing about it and it was just her management giving the answer. It wasn't until it became public that Gaga actually first heard about the request and said she loved it and let him put it out.
First I hear a strange noise from my bedroom, just after that, my cellphone rings but nobody responds, later I hear a cat meowing in the street like it's dying and now I hear something like a shot in the distance...

Regarding Gagita's stats I say let the other pop girls catch up and surpass her. Ch.... It's about time anyways. She can always regain that when she comes back to slay, but for now she should focus on making really good music. That's all I really want from her
How many of you would you like Gaga to do something like what Katy did? By that I mean after the album is released we all know her singles power usually decreases because she's an album seller, but what if she released a remixed version like one with a duet?

I actually think Madonna and her team set Gaga up to look like a liar. Gaga does say a lot of untrue **** sometimes but she wouldn't go on live TV and say something happened when it really didn't.
Either that or it was a miscommunication between the different parties.
