Yes, Beyonce's Love On Top performance made headlines around the world, but not because of the performance itself. It's because Beyonce announced that she was FINALLY pregnant. The most memorable part of that performance wasn't even part of the performance itself.

I agree with this (to some extent). The most memorable part
is the pregnancy. And that's the only reason why it made headlines. Undoubtedly. That being said, it's still a part of the performance even if the iconic part wasn't her performing. Like all iconic performances, there is an element that without it, it would lose the iconic touch. Without the kiss, the Britney-Madonna-Xtina thing would probably be a forgotten one.
