It's impressive, no doubt. But I still think Shrek 2 is equally impressive. The fact a relatively unknown studio could gross that much with a film aimed at kids is remarkable.

And actually in 2004 movies were just as accessible to watch online if not more so... there wasn't as much awareness about online piracy as there is now.

Toy Story has areas in two different theme parks on two different continents.

I wouldn't say Dreamworks was "unknown" at that time in any means. I mean they already had the huge first Shrek film and the highly acclaimed Prince Of Egypt.... And Shrek I don't think Shrek (2) was aimed at kids at all... more at teenager/young adults
