Hope to see some fans of both these shows here. I have a few questions:

1. Which show did you like better?
2. Which show portrayed gays better?
3. Which show had better writing?
4. Which show should've lasted longer?

L word portrayed gays better imo also had a more diverse cast racially.
L word at times had better writing but i enjoyed quite a few episodes in Queer as folk.
In terms of lasting appeal for me its the L Word.

So in short L word.

Something I wish QaF would've had more of. They used that disclaimer to kind of wiggle their way out of that amongst other things.


Anyway, I never really watched The L Word, so I can't really answer.

Is the L Word just/mainly lesbians or are there gay men as well, I haven't seen it.

2. Which show portrayed gays better? The L Word. For once lesbians were seen as something more than just something really hot for straight guys to jerk their snake to.
3. Which show had better writing? Both.
4. Which show should've lasted longer? The L Word.

I really liked QaF and its portrayal of HIV positive Ben. Actually all of Michael's storylines were good and realistic except the comic book thing.

Some gay men came as guest stars, but the main cast is just lesbians. I still recommend it.

I TRIED to get into the L Word but it just didn't happen.

I prefer QaF, but I'm gonna go ahead and guess that outside of the Ben/Michael HIV thing that the L Words portrayed gays much better.
