Miss Independent, Since U Been Gone, and Walk Away were not generic at the time where music was mostly r&b with rap singers. They are just considered generic now because of today music and looking back. But in that time. Far from.

I think everyone was SO sure that this would smash that the lackluster numbers are troubling everyone. I really hope it pulls a surprise smash but I won't hold my breath at this point.

Generic at that time would have a rapper on the song because that was the thing that made songs successful in a time when rhythmic songs were the most popular songs on radio. Queen bring in the pop/rock genre with no rappers. Who else?

When Kelly doesn't even care about how her songs have been doing on charts since Stronger She will definitely lose many of her fans like Christina Aguilera did if she keeps showing her indifference to her career.

A fanbase includes rooting for someone's success. It's okay to feel disappointed or complain about the current status of Kelly's career and image. The stronger era was a very big deal for Kelly's career. She received a lot of critical acclaim, had one of the biggest hits of the year, sold platinum since 8 years after her peak, won a grammy after 8 years and she had a very hot image. Kelly was close to the top yet again. And now a year later it seems like nothing really changed since All I Ever Wanted and all her hype and momentum just vanished. It seems like Kelly is very bipolar to her image and her career.

We have been blaming RCA for ages but a lot of you are forgetting that Kelly calls the shot in the end. I think Kelly needs a reboot. That's why I think signing with another label would be best at this point.
