MGS4 was a system seller. Actually, it was the FIRST PS3 system seller. Up until MGS4, everyone was buying a PS3 for Blu-ray.
Besides, my point was that, just because the PS4 doesn't have that great of a launch window, that doesn't mean it won't have good exclusives in the near future. Like you said, Naughty Dog are the best developer in video games right now (and they must be developing a PS4 title right now), and Quantic Dream are making some of the most interesting titles of the last 20 years (Heavy Rain was no fluke; they were also behind Indigo Prophecy and, of course, the upcoming Beyond: Two Souls). They also have Sucker Punch (inFAMOUS series), and SCE Santa Monica (God of War series), not to mention their many Europe and Asia game developers.
There's no denying that Xbox One has a better launch window in terms of exclusives, though, I'll give you that.
Now fans got what they wanted!
