both titles look fab. if the new mario didn't serve super mario bros. 2 teas i'd be a little disappointed but i'm not gonna pretend that the gaming legend peach's presence didn't affect my bias

Mario Kart 8 looks like it's trying to hard to be "revolutionary" when Sonic Racing Transformed did it so effortlessly.

That said, the new Super Mario title looks amazing! Is this part of the 64/Sunshine/Galaxy/Galaxy 2 games or is it part of another sub series?

So basically we have a 3D and 2D Super Mario Bros.

It will be hard for them to top Galaxy though! But why do they feel the need to put 3D in all the titles?
It's been 3D since the 64 It only makes sense on the 3DS.

MK8 is going to sell huge for the Wii U. The multiplayer with those stages...

Pretty sure everyone's really disappointed about it being 3D land.

I'm betting they have a team actively working on the next Galaxy, Sunshine, 64 etc but it's not ready and they needed something quick they could get Wii U sales for. It couldn't have been that complicated for them to rehash the successful 3DS formula for Wii U.

I'd expect the announcement for the next big 3D Mario to come sometime next year.
