I remember when I bought "The Open Door" the first day it came out. Too bad it wasn't better than "Fallen." I'm still a little bit disappointed.

I think it's a tad bit better than Fallen, actually. They don't sound like a Linkin Park knockoff with Christina Aguilera on vocals anymore. "The Only One", "Good Enough", "Lithium", "Like You", "Snow White Queen" = excellent. And to think I once disliked this band during their prime. Great performance @ Family Values this year.

Hey, at least it's not another Fallen version 2, that would suck even more .
I would have loved to see a video for Cloud Nine (the pause on the start of the last chorus is amazing), The Only One (even though this song doesn't have any political meaning, it could rival LP's What I've Done), Lose Control and Snow White Queen. hopefully they'll consider to released a 5th one single if GE becomes successful but I doubt it .

Ummm... By the way...
Origin was not officially released and does definitely NOT count as their debut album. It was a compiled CD collection of some of their best demos at the time. Amy calls it a demo album, and not an actual album.
Their debut album was Fallen and The Open Door was the long-anticipated 2nd album.

Yeah, that's better. Haha, they're my favorite band, too. But yeah, that makes waaay more sense. And I was hoping this wouldn't turn into some big argument. I'm glad we're cool on this now.
And people really shoudl listen to their other stuff. Stuff from their demos, EPs, Origin, and all the other stuff that's just randomly out there. It's amazing stuff.

Have they ever re-released Origin? I was just thinking about hearing it the other day. I have not heard anything pre-Fallen, but I'm sure I'll like it.

No they haven't re-released it. That'd be so rad if they did, though.
However, Amy did say this in a recent interview:

When this band started I was about 14 or so, and it was nothing more than a lot of song-writing and home recording. Throughout my high school years Ben and I (and later, David) filled all our spare time obsessing over songs, demoing them the best we could out of our parents houses, and playing the occasional club or cafe gig. Origin is a collection of our best home made recordings as of 2001 (I think. Maybe 2000...) Anyway, back then we were still finding ourselves- learning how to write. I've always felt that our music has grown and improved tremendously since then and want to keep doing better and better than before, instead of looking back. To be honest, its hard to listen to the really old stuff without laughing at myself a little. But of course those songs will always be special to me, and remind me of a time in my life that was both wonderful and terrible. It's so cool to have them recorded, so I can go back and listen to my teenaged self- to remember things I'd forgotten. Besides the songs from Origin that were re-recorded and put on Fallen, we did play "Even in Death" live quite a bit, which was always fun, and I've always liked the idea of one day putting out a b-sides and rarities cd - there are some interesting songs that even the fanliest of you fans haven't heard.

Wouldn't a rarites CD be the most awesomest thing EVER?!

Yeah, they need to do that. I could see it happening next year since we probably won't get another Evanescence album until 2009.

I think the album is done. We won't get another single unless it's from a soundtrack or the possible rarities album.
"Good Enough" may have flopped flat on its ass because someone at their label hasn't even bothered to send it out to Pop/AC.

I know that, sadly
If she really wanted to release a ballad as last single, she shoud've chosen Lacrymosa not GE
