IIRC, sony said they weren't gonna have a price tag as big as the PS3's this time round, and the PS3 60GB model launched in the UK at £425 so fingers crossed they weren't just talkin about that $599 US price.

Doesn't seem so expensive to me. I mean the PS3 started at $600 and that was before a decade of inflation and with fewer peripherals. I mean that's like an iPad.
